Lisa Welter Named Director for Safe Families – Minnesota

Safe Families for Children is excited to announce Lisa Welter as our new Director for Safe Families for Children – Minnesota. As our former director, Maridel Sandberg, transitions to a new venture we want to thank her for her years of service and wish her the best.

Lisa Welter will lead all of our Minnesota chapters. This change affects the Safe Families for Children chapters in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Rochester and Duluth. Under Lisa’s leadership we will continue to surround families in crisis with caring, compassionate community through the generosity and hard work of each of you. The work and the mission of Safe Families for Children continues on.

Lisa will begin her new role Wednesday, July 5th and she can be reached at lwelter@safefamilies.net. Her passion is to bring hope and change to Minnesota’s vulnerable children and families while empowering the local church to unleash it’s potential to contribute.

She currently resides in St. Paul with her husband, Cary, and their three teenagers. With a Master of Arts in Transformational Leadership from Bethel Seminary, Lisa has spent much of her career collaborating with ministry and nonprofit leaders to bring hope and opportunities to those in need. Lisa is founder of the Connected Kids Initiative, a collaborative movement of 8 agencies bringing hope to Minnesota child welfare by mobilizing the faith communities. Her ministry background was established at Eagle Brook Church (EBC) leading a variety of ministries including local missions, care ministries, life events, and pastoral development. She was instrumental in launching the EBC Blaine Campus before moving to the local missions role. Lisa has also served in the United States Air Force on active duty as a medic at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Please help us welcome Lisa to the team and continue the mission of caring for families in crisis.
